Upcoming Web & Social Media Ministry Training Events You Can Afford

Piggy Bank ImageFor many of you, steep registration costs and the added expense to travel make it near impossible for you to attend many of the church leader conferences. It may be the end of the year and your church budgets are tapped, but don’t fret because there are still a few premier web ministry and social media training events that are cost effective. Here are a few that I found. If you are aware of similar training events, please comment below with your suggestions. 

Speak Conference
Location: North Central University; Minneapolis, Minnesota
Date/Time: September 8, 2011; 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: A conference focused on your church’s online communications. The goal is to engage in relevant conversations around using your website design, Facebook, blog, Twitter, Youtube, mobile website and email marketing better. This will happen through short TED style talks on each topic by specialists in their field. The event is designed to be a conversation starter and will only be 2.5 hours long.

M2LIVE: Kansas
Location: Hutchinson Trinity United Methodist Church; Hutchinson, Kansas
Date/Time: September 24, 2011; 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $20, includes lunch
Presenters: Matt Carlisle (Big Heart Design), Justin Wise (Monk Development), Erin Sean McAtee (The Dave Ramsey Show)
Description: If you are a church leader or volunteer interested in learning how to develop an effective social media strategy, create a more appealing and usable church website, or would like to grow your ministry using web technology, M2LIVE Kansas is the event for you!

M2LIVE: Illinois
Location: Illinois Great River Conference Office; Springfield, Illinois

Description: M2LIVE is a grassroots effort allowing believers of all backgrounds to come together to celebrate Christ, while sharing and learning from one another. A series of live hands-on workshops, M2LIVE is designed for church leaders and volunteers interested in enhancing their ministry using the latest in web and social media technology. The Illinois training event will be focused on social media.
