In a recent study from Optify, provider of marketing software and services, they report that click-through-rates (CTRs) for the top three results on search engines account are highly concentrated and account for nearly 60% of clicks, with the top spot achieving nearly 37%.
So what does this means for churches? Competition to gain the attention of seekers church shopping via search engines like Google has always been rigid. These results clearly show that with an average 37% click through rate, the benefit of ranking number one is very valuable, and with 60% of the clicks going to the top three (usually above the fold), ranking at the top of the first page is more valuable than ever. To illustrate, Optify’s report indicated that ranking first on the second page has greater value than ranking at the bottom of page one. To learn more, download a free copy of the report.
More importantly, if your church now sees the importance of search engine optimization, I highly recommend reading Tentblogger’s SEO optimization guide. Best of luck!
