3 Tools to Help Identify Your Favorite Fonts

Identify Font

Have you ever found a font online that you really loved, but had no way to identify? If you’re a designer or creative, you’ve run into this issue before. Here are 3 tools that will help you to identify your favorite fonts. Each service uses a different method to help with your investigation. Enjoy!

  1. Web Fonts Preview: Developed by Fonts.com, this tool allows you to identify fonts by URL. You are asked to submit a web address and the application will identify which fonts are used. Another great feature is that you have the ability to change the fonts of your favorite sites simply by selecting from the thousands of fonts offered at Fonts.com – a great help if you are considering a redesign.
  2. WhatTheFont: Developed by MyFonts.com, this tool allows you to either upload an image or specify an image URL; the application will then search for the closest font match.
  3. Identifont: This service relies on human interaction to help identify your font. Through a series of questions about the characteristics of your font, Identifont will provide you a list of possible matches. What’s helpful here is that you may find the font you wanted but also a list of other possibilities as well.
