While I am fully invested in most Google applications, I “really” love Google’s URL Shortner. Like most link shortners, goo.gl is a service that takes long URLs and squeezes them into fewer characters to make a link that is easier to share, tweet, or email to friends. For the last two years, I’ve been jumping from one link shortner to another, but I finally settled on goo.gl after learning that with each URL, they also create a complimentary QR code that you can download. We are still in the early stages of QR code adoption, but I believe in years to come we will find many more uses. If you are still new to QR codes, read my recent post on the subject. The image above shows how goo.gl will not only provide you with vital analytics on your link, but also your QR code as well. Enjoy!
