A friend recently asked if I was aware of an application that would track an organization’s mentions on Facebook. After a little research, I found Social Mention. Not only does it offer real time tracking of Facebook mentions, but more than 100 social media properties. I personally set up daily media alerts to track mentions of my name as well as organizations that I’m responsible for monitoring. The media alerts will be sent to me via email, much like Google’s alerts. Social Mention looks to be a great resource. As I experiment with it further, I’ll report my findings.
Here’s how SocialMention describes their services:
Social Mention is a social media search and analysis platform that aggregates user generated content from across the universe into a single stream of information.
It allows you to easily track and measure what people are saying about you, your company, a new product, or any topic across the web’s social media landscape in real-time. Social Mention monitors 100+ social media properties directly including: Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed, YouTube, Digg, Google etc.
